This summer we have had several links to articles that highlighted either pastoral misconduct or pastoral stupidty. While this article has both of those things the congregation also goes along for the ride. Wheeeee!
If one plus one equals two then does pastor plus Baptist equal depravity? I’m just kidding Jim, but it does seem like the Baptist are taking their turn in the wrong spotlight lately.

Sex Offender Back In Pulpit
Despite prison term, preacher welcomed by Baptist congregation
My Favorite part:
“I honestly believe that had I been a college pastor, I’d slept with college girls,” he said. “But I was a youth pastor. It was less about age and more about who I spent all my time with.”
Wow. Way to step up to the plate on that one. I wonder what would have happened if he had been the seniors pastor (”it was less about age”) or in mens ministries (”more about who I spent all my time with”).
I also enjoy the consistent logic and forgiveness of the congregation. We ‘forgive’ and welcome our new pastor fresh from prison with his new and second wife, but we reject our other new pastor for getting re-married. I says pardon?

wow, one can forgive a person for his sins, but what about him still being a danger to the young girls?
i can forgive a person for hurting me, but am i suppose to let him stay in my life, to maybe do it again?
Do you put a sex offender back in the child care room on sunday, because he is forgiven?
it sounds like he is able to manipulate people and the other pastor didn’t try.

Why do I have a feeling that if he were fired over a theological difference there would be no way he would be allowed back?
