Great, Amazing, Awesome News!
The last couple of weeks have been very exciting for me. I received two amazing pieces of news:
1) Dr. Jim Scott has agreed to oversee my M.A. thesis. First, Dr. Scott, academically, is a perfect choice for my work considering his many ridiculous talents and deep knowledge in the field of biblical studies. Second, he is an extremely likable person. I very much look forward to his critical eye and direction in my work.
2) I found out yesterday that I have received a research assistanship scholarship from Canada Research Chair in Dead Sea Scrolls Studies working under the supervision of Dr. Peter Flint. It is an honour to receive the scholarship and be able to work and learn under Dr. Flint’s tutelage. Dr. Flint is a world renowned scholar in Dead Sea Scrolls studies, but just as important, having studied with him much of last year, I can also say that he is quite affable and enjoyable to dialogue with and learn from.
The nice part with the scholarship is that financially it removes any burden that school could put on our home this year, and means that I don’t have to get a crappy part time job! Baruch haShem!

brilliant! congrats!!!!!
Congrats! I know the value of a good director, so glad you are excited.
Congratulations, Scott… I know that you are just beginning to find your stride – what the future holds for you will be amazing. Baruch haShem indeed!!!!!!!
Congrats on both counts! Jim and Peter should serve you well–very different personalities but both fantastic people and excellent scholars.
You mean you’re not studying under Todd Bentley? Just when you think you know a guy…
