Were-Truth in Advertising
The Wolfman Blu-ray commercials are playing on TV right now and they go something like this:
Own The Wolfman on Blu-ray on June 1st and watch your HDTV come alive.
That’s it.
How bad is your movie when you can’t come up with a single pull quote from anyone, anywhere that at least can sort of be manipulated into an advertisement?
Something like this:
So and so from the NY Times: If this movie had a competent director it would have been a thrilling horror remake.
Wolfman Advertisement: “A Thrilling Horror Remake!
Some dude from the Chicago Times: I really enjoyed this movie once I fell asleep
Wolfman Advertisement: I really enjoyed this movie!
A reviewer from LA: This movie is a long, long way from 5 stars
Wolfman Advertisement: 5 stars!
So basically, their selling point, if I am to read between the lines of their advertising campaign correctly, is this: Our movie sucks, but hey, at least it’s pretty, so buy it and enjoy the eye candy…
I’ll pass on this one. Thanks.

Wait for an unrated version to get released.
When a film tanks with critics or at the box office studios try to sucker people into buying unrated versions of the film that stunk when it hit theaters.
