E.C.H.O.E.S. of Praise: Ruining Music One Song At A Time
Just when you thought Christian music couldn’t get any worse than CCM… just when you were beginning to believe that no one, absolutely no one, could be less entertaining than the Gaithers… along comes Echoing Praise.
About E.C.H.O.E.S. of Praise
My twin sister & I teach worship dance & music specials to our E.C.H.O.E.S. of Praise dance team (Exalting Christ High Over Every Situation).
We use many styles – ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, flags, etc, to bring glory to God.
We also worship God through song, instruments, handbells, music videos, & sign language.
We hope our videos touch your heart!
The evil twins in the video, Misty and Kristy, are the nefarious duo who brought you “How to Ruin Your Easter Service” and “Terrorism ALERT: Bin Cheesy and Bin Stupid on the Loose“.
Somehow. Someway. Their evil must be stopped…

They are really good. I mean, they don’t sing on key or anything – but they def gots some mad skillz.
I bet they home school.
Since God looks at the heart, as incredulous as that may sound: He might not just put up with it but actually enjoy such a performance! (Who is the real audience?)
So, in a round about way, what you’re saying is that you could equate this to a band going onstage and playing something that doesn’t go over very well with most of their audience only to have the band turn around and say, “Well our mom’s think we’re really good so who cares what you think.”
No, what I’m saying in a not so roundabout way is that our demand for excellence (especially regarding people we will never ask to do this in OUR churches and accordingly won’t have to endure) is somewhat overrated and may distract from the purpose of worship altogether – which is not to put up a good entertaining show but to glorify God. Do I believe it can be done a zillion times better? Absolutely! Should we pursue to do better than this? By all means – to the best of our individual abilities!
But the evil twins are not doing it just to worship their god. They are doing it to put on a show. If they were really doing it to worship God, then they wouldn’t do it where other people have to suffer through it and film it – and make a montage (obviously with the evil twins’ blessing). They’d do it somewhere private.
There are better twins to watch.
Len, that’s true. I wasn’t thinking about the clip as a public production, more what’s going on in churches in general – where worship is quite often not exactly “excellent” in terms of a performance, and it doesn’t have to be (although I do believe we should strive to give our best to God).
Hang on – must get my sick bag.
scott, i’m logged in as bob, but this is roslyn. as i have no words, i have to use one of his most favorite phrases, though. i shake my head. roslyn out.
