Theme: Vigilance by The Theme Foundry.

That would explain the size of Mark Driscoll’s following. Apparently, there’s nothing like abject terror to help spread the love/joy/peace.
What if people are following Isaiah’s commission:
“He said, “Go and tell this people:
“‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’
10 Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.[a]
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.” ”
In an interview I specifically heard some Westboro Baptist folks invoke this. So they are being successful, not because they are drawing people to their movement, but because they actually want to repel people.
