2011′s Worst Christmas Church Series (So Far…)
Crossing Church‘s Christmas series this year is titled Bringin’ Swagger Back.
It is kicked off by this video of Santa getting his swagger back.
I don’t want to be a pedant and all, but you would think that a church–a church!–would at least have something to do with Jesus for their Christmas series. But no, alas, Santa gets head billing for this church.
What is ‘swagger’ you ask? Well according to the dictionary:

The above video is then used to kick off a sermon on ‘Holy’ swagger…
So, here we have a double-fail in this Santamas series: one, missing the point of Christmas, and two, trying way too hard to be ‘relevant’ and failing miserably… seriously? When did JT make that song? Bringing Sexy Back becomes Bringin Swagger Back and a Christmas series focuses on Santa getting his swagger back?

Wow, who’d have thought the brave folks fighting the War on Christmas would have a problem with friendly fire? I didn’t think they’d go nuclear just yet, though.
Here’s a thought: this isn’t even the same church that did the ‘Circus’ thing. That means there’s at least two of them. Is anyone else beginning to wonder if Scrooge had a point?
I go to the crossing, and you have obviously never watched, nor listened to any of the talks. My suggestion, listen/watch the talk before you make wild conjectures about the church. The swagger series was about walking in holy swagger because god is with you, the only time santa was present was in the video. Please have your facts together if you are going to comment on the church. God bless you!
