Hermeneutics Video 1

June 13, 2008

As I come across videos and posts that might be beneficial for a teacher, professor, or pastor in the next months I am going to post them here. Hopefully they can be a valuable resource for some persons out there in their teaching or preaching, and if not, I will use them myself! Remember: as we move into the conceptual age this is how people are consuming information and can be a valuable device in your communication set if used properly!

If you are wondering if this is how I feel sometimes when talking to people about the biblical text then the answer would be yes. When you have to start your point by explaining that Jesus didn’t speak King James English you know you are in for a long, painful conversation.

Chris Tilling has a good post on Asking the Right Questions.

I’ll assume with Chris in charge it’s probably not your average Bible study he’s got going on in Tübingen.

Simon Pegg. Best straight man since Abbot. Wait, was Abbot the straight man or was Costello? No, it was Abbot. But Pegg. Brilliant.

Everyone knows Jesus spoke Aramaic…but Paul wrote the Bible in the King’s English.

Are people really stupid enough not to know that?
