Veruca Demands Glory From God

September 17, 2010

If my children ever asked for anything from anyone in this manner they would be grounded so fast for so long their heads would spin.

The little girl in the above video reminds me of Veruca Salt. Sadly, there are many adult Christians whose prayers don’t amount to much more.

How many more of these do you think you’ll need to have enough for the “World’s Wildest Pentecostal Video” elimination rounds?

I’m sure there’s enough to probably start one right now… unfortunately.

It would be interesting to see what happens to these children as they enter adulthood after they learn that God is not their personal bubblegum machine.

Will they still call themselves Christians or will they have shrugged it all off?

New Zealand used to be so cool. . . when I was a kid we ran around in the forest up behind the Silverstream Railway, building huts and looking for cool places to explore… now it’s all “I want this, and I want that” “now”.. what ever happened to patience?… Oh, wait, I forgot, that’s one of those spirit-fruits! Can’t have that in a “spirit filled church” can we?

incidentally, the railway is still running, if any of these kids want to go down there and play : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Stream_Railway . The stream nearby has recently been through some restoration works. Some good native ecology is developing down there nowadays…
