Bad Apologetic Evangelism: The Video
Very likely it has never occurred to the patronizing lady in this video that the exact same argument (and a couple of other ones as well) using her circles can be used against her position. Also, I’m not sure this would win any atheists over to any theists position as it seems to me to fundamentally misunderstand atheistic concerns as far as I can tell.
As an aside, I did have to chuckle while she was drawing circles on a yellow legal pad, and a slide had to pop-up and inform us “A visual representation can be useful in trying to emphasize a point.” Yeah, because it’s important to reinforce effective soul-winning ‘techniques’ in the middle of a poorly conceived and articulated argument.
Psalm 152:1 “The fool has said in her heart I can win an argument with pictures.”
How To Evangelize an Atheist…
Belief and knowledge are not the same things honey.

it is hugely important to be as patronizing as possible when attempting to “reach” the “lost and confused” atheists whose opinions and positions are held so tenuously
Hi there, I’m an atheist and have been known to say some nasty things about religion. But I quite like the vibe I’m getting from your blog. I think Bible study is pretty interesting too, although I’m a rank amateur of course.
This video was pretty funny, especially how she (ever so nicely) called me a fool. Actually, Psalm 14:1 is probably my favourite verse in the whole Bible. I find it encouraging to know that even when the Bible was being written, there were those who doubted. It’s not a new phenomenon.
Anyway, I wish you luck in trying to improve the arguments on the theist side. A strong opposition never hurt anyone.
That camera movement was weird
This technique was derived from the mid 1940s from The Bud And Lou Evangelistic Association
The Bud & Lou technique used on the street:
This method has proved very successful among 10-year-old atheist nephews
I’d just laugh, say, “ad populum,” and walk away.
She’s a little creepy
