Lying For Jesus: Michelle Bachmann

June 18, 2011

Rep. Michele Bachmann, a presidential candidate and one of the leading advocates of “intelligent design” in American politics claims

there is a controversy among scientists about whether evolution is a fact… hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel prizes, believe in intelligent design.

Of course, when pressed to name a single Nobel scientist who holds to an ID position Michelle Bachmann could name… zero.

First, Bachmann has absolutely no idea what science is or how the scientific method works. Furthermore, she has absolutely no clue of what the word theory means and how it functions within the scientific method.

Second, Bachmann’s lies have an ideological purpose. She claims that there are scientific doubts and

“What I support is putting all science on the table and then letting students decide. I don’t think it’s a good idea for government to come down on one side of scientific issue or another, when there is reasonable doubt on both sides.”

“I would prefer that students have the ability to learn all aspects of an issue,” Bachmann said. “And that’s why I believe the federal government should not be involved in local education to the most minimal possible process.”

From CNN

Except, if Bachmann actually knew anything about science she would understand that what she is proposing is the fedearal government being involved in local education! If actual science is allowed to decide the issue then unfortunately for Bachmann, and has been shown time and again in recent court battles, evolution–the theory that explains the greatest amount of data, consistently, in a variety of different fields–will be the science taught in the class rooms. Precisely, and actually, what Bachmann is proposing is not allowing real science but interfering for her ideological position.

And that’s why she has to lie for Jesus…

Funny thing, even Albert Einstein believed in intelligent design. So was he a crackpot? All you have to do is look at the DNA of any cell and you would know that there is nothing “random” about it.
