Bob, you know this video applies to everyone but me and you right? As former athletes we can at least claim we wouldn’t look like this at all!

We all know that participation in martial arts gives you demons…but I didn’t think they’d be demons of uncoordination. Satan must have a great sense of irony. I wonder how you go about rebuking them…

This video’s an all-time classic! I expect the SBL bibliobloggers sessions in SanFran to be nothing less than a slug-fest of uncoordinated, raged-filled barbarity!

I expect someone at least one paper on the honor-shame dimensions of the dummy having to don the balaclava.

Reminds me of the e-mail I got a few years ago asking whether I wanted (and could I handle!) the respect that goes with having a black belt. If I did, then all I had to do was buy the guy’s (quite expensive) martial arts video course and – when I’d followed it – send him an e-mail stating on my honour that I could do the [whatever daft name technique it was]. I wish I knew about this earlier – it sounded so much easier than the many years of actual hard training I put in to get a real black belt.
