Medical Advice From God

May 17, 2013

Swing and a Miss

Remember: never get your current medical advice from ignorant ancient persons! Knowledge has progressed…

I guess we could also add such ‘sage’ advice as:

“Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.” 1 Tim 5:23

“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.” James 5:14

Read this post for evidence of how well that works…

Well, in the days of Cholera, I’d rather wine for hydrating purposes over the water supply any day.

That aside, I think you’d have to be a bit more than dull to read 1 Tim 5:23 and James 5:14 as intending to be universal medical prescriptions. Mind you.. the earth abounds will the dull…..

Every church I’ve ever attended thought James 5:14 was sound medical advice.:/

Pstyle beat me to it. In days or regions without water treatment, it was much better advice to drink wine or beer instead of water. Better the microbes you know & love than the ones you don’t!

I drink a small glass of red whenever I have a stomach flew. It helps settle my stomach and also helps with the nausea. It is also a suggested remedy if you eat something questionable as it will help kill of bacteria in the stomach. Just saying.
