Glenn Beck Murders History, Anthropology, and Biblical Studies
Anyone with some common sense, a modicum of intelligence, and a little historical training knows that Glenn Beck is an ignorant dilettante. As if his insanely stupid and historically ridiculous argument that the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden to keep them from the Council of Nicea wasn’t enough proof of his ignorance, he is now proving it further with his take on the Torah and the ‘lost’ tribes of Israel…
It was only a matter of time, given Glenn Beck’s current obsession with Israel, before he dedicated a program to Biblical history, which is just what he did last night, spending his opening monologue tracing Western Civilization back to the twelve tribes of Israel and explaining that all of our contemporary laws and society are directly rooted in the Kingdom of Judah.
In Beck’s telling, following the defeat of the Assyrians, the lost tribes of Northern Israel fled across the Caucus region and settled on the coastlines of Europe where they created Western Civilization and eventually became the Pilgrims that founded America.
“All of Western Civilization,” Beck declared, “is based on the laws of Israel and our entire history is directly tied to this moment” before going on the explain that our Statue of Liberty is, in reality, a representation of Moses proclaiming the Ten Commandments.
Unfortunately it gets worse…
Glenn Beck–an impossible Mormon windbag–had John Hagee–an even more just absolutely unimaginable, impossible ”Christian’ windbag–on his show…
where he introduced him as “one of the great men alive today” based on their mutual love and concern for the nation of Israel, which they both explained was rooted in the Bible.
After Beck declared that he “gets his pro-Israel stance from the Bible” and that “between the Bible and the history of America, I know whose side we’re supposed to be on,” Hagee proclaimed that “the Jewish people do not occupy the land of Israel, they own the land of Israel” because it had been given to them by God.
As such, Hagee said, Christians are obligated to protect and defend them and Beck eagerly agreed, adding that “we’re so indebted because, if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have the Torah, which most of our laws come from; all of Western society comes from the Torah”:
The stupid: it burns!
