The first article concerning Harold Camping appeared on Scotteriology several months back, and since then there have been a variety of articles on Camping, his followers, and their many billboards. “Because I am a prophet with an extremely heavy anointing!” And I prophesy, “Thus says the mouth of YHWH, “For surely I know the plans I have for,” says YHWH, “Plans to leave you on earth, and no plans to rapture you on May 21, 2011. Carry on. Look busy.”
Seriously, when the Rapture does not happen on May 21st, you can all venerate me and give me money, and I will have proven and guaranteed that I am a prophet of YHWH.

As an engineer, it’s very interesting to me how many terrorists and dilettantes in many fields are also engineers. Perhaps our job of actually making the world spin around tends to make us arrogant about things.
I think what tends to happen is that engineers see patterns and designs where there aren’t any.
So during the dotcom boom, most of my coworkers were day trading during work time, convinced that they could spot the patterns in the market. This is the same urge that reads revelations+daniel and sees all sorts of hitherto unseen patterns.
